March 26th, 2009, 11:41am by Mary Conroy

Join us for a free DIALOG Webinar for OHIONET members and friends!

Get a quick overview of DIALOG options to see how to best use your  DIALOG account with the following webinar:

Title: Dialog Webinar: “Which Interface?”

Date: Thursday April 2, 2009

Time:  10am-11am

Where:  at your computer

Instructor: Patricia Currie of DIALOG

Join us for an overview of the different search interfaces available for accessing the depth and breadth of Dialog’s online content. The same Dialog password can be used with a variety of search interfaces, most of which are web-based. Some interfaces are designed to help non-command searchers answer very specific types of questions (i.e. ‘what recent news articles mention Company X’, or ‘what patents have been granted to Company Y’). Other interfaces enhance Dialog’s powerful command searching with built-in links to Bluesheets and other database documentation, while also providing unique post-processing functions for reformatting your search results into professional-looking Word reports or Excel spreadsheets.

Below is the list of interfaces that will be covered during this session. Based on your feedback future sessions will cover some of them in more detail:

  • Dialog1.com – FREE searching!
  • DialogSelect.com – FREE searching!
  • DialogWeb.com (Guided Search and Command Search modes)
  • DialogClassic.com
  • Dialoglink5

If you would like to sign up for this free webinar, please e-mail Mary Conroy (maryc@ohionet.org) to receive the logon details.
