J.R. Clarke Public Library and Marvin Memorial Public Library Join COOL

On May 15, two more libraries were officially welcomed into the Consortium of Ohio Libraries (COOL).  J.R. Clarke Public Library in Covington and Marvin Memorial Public Library in Shelby were voted in as the newest members to the consortium.  J.R. Clarke plans to migrate to the COOL-CAT later this summer, and Marvin Memorial is planning to migrate in the fall. They will be the tenth and eleventh libraries in consortium.

Registration for Embracing eBooks Is Open

Registration is open for Embracing eBooks, which will be held on July 17 at the Holiday Inn in Worthington. This one-day conference is geared toward providing public service library staff with a well-rounded picture of the current state of eBooks and eReaders in libraries.

Embracing eBooks will feature keynote speaker Sue Polanka, a full day of breakout sessions, and a hands-on lab. Some of the breakout sessions include:

COOL Consortium President Elected to Evergreen Oversight Board

Chauncey Montgomery, Director of the Community Library (Sunbury) and COOL Consortium President, has been elected to the Evergreen Oversight Board.

The purpose of the Board is to "promote, support and advance" the development of Evergreen software for libraries and to do the same for its community of users.

Congratulations to Chauncey and to the COOL libraries on this recognition of their work!

The Blanchester Public Library and the Wornstaff Memorial Public Library went live with Evergreen on the Consortium of Ohio Libraries (COOL) shared catalog on March 14, 2013.
