Library Director

The Winnetka-Northfield Public Library District in Illinois (http://www.winnetkalibrary.org/) seeks an influential leader as its next Library Director. As Director you will be expected to implement a service plan for a district with both a great appreciation and high expectations for its library. Situated along Lake Michigan, you will be working in one of the most desirable locations in the Greater Chicago Area with a combined population of approximately 18,000. You will guide a talented staff of 50, utilize a budget of over $3,000,000, and provide library services from two buildings. As Director you will be a highly visible leader in both the library and the community. You will be expected to form partnerships, ensure the district is current with technological advances, and maintain a culture of excellence and teamwork. You will be involved in evaluating the current buildings and planning for the library’s future growth in line with the current strategic plan. A keen sense of fiscal responsibility and best practices are a must.
