Sr. Implementation Manager, WorldShare Management Services (WMS) position.

OCLC Online Computer Library Center, Inc. is a nonprofit, membership, computer library service and research organization dedicated to the public purposes of furthering access to the world's information and reducing information costs.  Tens of thousands of libraries around the world use OCLC services to locate, acquire, catalog, lend and preserve library materials.  We are currently seeking candidates for a Sr. Implementation Manager, WorldShare Management Services (WMS) position.  

 The work location for the assignment will be in Dublin, Ohio.

This position is responsible for leading complex WorldShare Management Services (WMS) implementations, working directly with libraries to migrate data, configure, test, troubleshoot, train, and roll-out their WMS  instance.  The implementation process involves close coordination with several internal departments, such as metadata services, development, product management, training, quality assurance, and sales.  This position will also be responsible for developing approaches for improving the current implementation process as well as providing leadership and direction to less experienced Implementation Managers.  Finally, this position will conduct analyses of completed implementations and provide feedback to product management and other peer groups.

• Directly responsible for leading more complex libraries through the implementation of their WMS instance.  Use defined processes and tools/templates to lead these implementations.  Measure outcomes against defined goals for each implementation.


• Develop approaches for improving the current implementation process.


• Directly responsible for development of materials that support implementation services and the on-going effective use of WMS.  Materials may include project management related tools/templates, training materials, process flows and sales collateral.


• Collaborate with internal parties (product management; development; quality assurance; sales) to improve WMS.


• Conduct analyses of completed implementations and provide feedback to the implementation manager and product management.


• Provide leadership and direction to less experienced Implementation Managers.

• Masters of Library and Information Science Degree (MLIS).


• 4-6 years experience in the library industry; experience working in a library (Circulation; Acquisitions; Automation; or similar is preferred.


• Basic knowledge of library workflows is required; advanced knowledge of library workflows is preferred.


• Experience working in libraries or directly with libraries.


• Experience producing high-quality deliverables (documents; analyses; project plans) in fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.


• Experience working collaboratively with several internal parties (development; product management; quality assurance; sales).


• Superior communication skills, both written and oral.


• Ability to think critically to solve problems.


• Ability to proactively identify problems and opportunities and act upon them.
