Fundamentals of Cataloging: AV Materials
Magda El-Sherbini
Since 1996, Magda El-Sherbini has served as the Head of the Cataloging Department at The Ohio State University Libraries. She has been employed by OSU Libraries since 1987. In addition to having several articles published, Magda El-Sherbini also currently acts as an adjunct professor for the Kent State Library and Information Science Masters program, most recently teaching the course "Organization of Library Materials."

NEW curriculum and NEW instructor for 2009! The Fundamentals of Cataloging series covers the basics of cataloging in five sessions. Attend all the sessions or only the ones of interest. This session will examine the the cataloging of audio-visual materials. Participants will be exposed to format-specific cataloging practices for items such as sound recordings and DVDs. Technical services staff will learn the fundamentals necessary for obtaining and editing quality AV records for their library.
