Members, log in for full details

Black Studies in Video, the latest addition to Alexander Street Press's award-winning black studies portfolio, brings together seminal documentaries, powerful interviews, and previously unavailable archival footage surveying the black experience. At completion, the collection will contain 500 hours of film covering African American history, politics, art and culture, family structure, gender relationships, and social and economic issues. Exclusively in Black Studies in Video, libraries will have access to the extraordinary SNCC Legacy Video Collection from California Newsreel, documenting speeches, panel discussions, and programs from the 50th anniversary reunion of the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee., California Newsreel has agreed to make these films available online only in this resource, so members will want to request a trial to see them.
