In observance of the Presidents' Day holiday, the OHIONET office will be closed on Monday,  February 16th. Regular office hours will resume on Tuesday, February 17th.

Rita Bennett celebrated her 25th anniversary with OHIONET on February 12.  Over the years, many of you may remember her friendly voice when you have contacted the Accounting Department.  Rita has always said that her favorite part of the job is talking to you, our members. Please join us in congratulating Rita on her years of service.

We are glad to welcome Shepherd University Scarborough Library as our newest member.

Shepherd University is located in the Eastern Panhandle of West Virgina, on the banks of the Potomac River, in the Shenandoah Valley.  The area surrounding the university is both historic and modern.  Shepherdstown is the oldest town in the state of West Virginia, and yet it is only 65 miles from the greater Washington, D.C. area.

There are around 4100 FTE on campus in a variety of graduate and undergraduate programs.

The library maintains a variety of physical and electronic resources to support faculty and students in those programs, and it is the center of campus life: the library boasts over 300,000 physical visits per year.

You can learn more about the library from their website, http://www.shepherd.edu/libweb.  You can also like them on Facebook or follow them on Twitter or Pintrest.

Please join us in welcoming Shepherd University Scarborough Library to our OHIONET family.

The 2015 OHIONET Preview for K-12 Libraries is now available.  We invite you to access the preview by visiting http://www.ohionet.org/user and entering the appropriate login credentials.

After initial login, returning users can go directly to http://ohionet.org/k-12-trial.  We’ve tried to correct a lot of the login problems experienced in the past, but if you encounter any issues, please try clearing your cache and logging in again.

The preview will run from Monday, February 2 through Friday, February 27.  As mentioned before, we’ve tried to curate a more thoughtful preview by ensuring we’re featuring content that is price sensitive (most resources are $1,500 or less), is not a resource already made available via INFOhio, and has ties to Ohio Learning Standards (some resources feature lexile information).

Any requests for login credentials, questions, quotes, and/or purchases can be directed to Carrie Waibel, Electronic Resources Specialist, carriew@ohionet.org or 800-686-8975, ext. 25.

Happy Previewing!
