Assessment, impact, evaluation, measures, metrics....

No matter what you may call it, data-wrangling skills are fast becoming in-demand in the library world.  Whether your responsibilities find you teaching & helping patrons, designing programs, building collections or managing resource and staffing allocations, chances are that you have been (or soon will be) asked to participate in some kind of data-related project.  And, for most of us, these topics fall squarely into the "they didn't teach me this in library school" column, right?

We'll be kicking off our day with some words of wisdom from Beverly Cain, State Librarian of Ohio, followed by a slate of breakout sessions featuring your fellow librarians, hailing from K12, public and academic institutions all across Ohio.

WHEN: Friday, July 17th, 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM

We’re very pleased to announce the final module of our re-vamped Fundamentals of Cataloging series is ready!  It’s time for Classification for Copy Catalogers.  Like our other sessions in the Fundamentals series, this content is aimed at folks who are primarily completing copy-cataloging tasks.  Also, we’ve split the material into two sessions: one for folks working with Dewey and one for folks working within the Library of Congress system.  Each session will provide 3-hours of content and will give attendees a chance to explore both free and subscription-based tools to help you evaluate (and alter) pre-assigned call numbers to fit into your collection.  Click the links below for more information and registration options!
