Part time; 20 hours per week evenings and weekends; Mon. – Thurs. 4pm – 8pm, Sat. 12pm – 4pm Additional 4 hour shift on some Sundays 1pm – 5pm during school year. (schedule subject to change based on needs of the library)
Duties: 

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES TO PERFORM THE FOLLOWING:

MCDL is looking for a positive, pleasant and adaptable individual committed to providing charismatic customer service to members and staff throughout the system.  The successful candidate will provide direct library services to members of all ages at all service points. It is essential that the candidate possess the ability to adapt to both reference and customer service roles in both large and small branch libraries, as well as other projects as assigned.  Customer Service tasks include collecting monies and processing passport applications. Position’s home base is Medina.  Location may vary day to day based on last minute employee call offs.  Must have own transportation.

Requirements: 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Candidate must possess a Bachelor's degree and one year experience working directly with the public; excellent communication and organizational skills, ability to present programs, knowledge of a wide range of books and authors, familiarity with Microsoft Windows and the Internet, ability to learn and teach use of electronic library resources and use our computerized circulation system, and ability to work as a team member. Candidate must be a U.S. citizen, eligible to become a passport acceptance agent.

Medina Library is looking for a friendly, energetic individual to join our vibrant Children's Department committed to public service!  Successful candidate will provide direct library services such as reference and reader's advisory, plan and present programs and storytimes for children of all ages, process member requests, assist in collection maintenance, and other duties as assigned.  This position will float to cover the Reference, Teen and Customer Service desks as needed.

Requirements: 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree and one year experience working with the public, excellent communication skills for presenting programs, knowledge of wide range of books and authors, familiarity with Microsoft Windows and the Internet, ability to learn and teach use of electronic library resources, and ability to work as a team member.  Experience in programming and working with children strongly preferred.

Responsibilities include reference, reader's advisory, and request processing; planning and presenting programs for all ages; provide training sessions for our members on the use of our computer technology to access information; assisting in collection maintenance; maintaining and updating files and indexes; and other duties as assigned.

Candidate must possess a Bachelor's degree and one year experience  working directly with the public is required, however, two years is preferred;  excellent customer service, communication and organizational skills, ability to plan and present programs, ability to prioritize workload,  knowledge of a wide range of books and authors, familiarity with Microsoft Products and the Internet, ability to learn and teach use of electronic library resources and use our computerized circulation system, and ability to work both independently and as a team member. The candidate must be able to work with members and staff in a professional, courteous manner both in person and on the phone.

The Medina Customer Service Department is looking for a vibrant, congenial individual to provide great customer service to members at the customer service desk and perform clerical duties related to a wide range of customer services. Operate computer for circulation of materials, assist library members with use of check out stations, register members for library cards, collect fines and fees, prepare and make bank deposits, problem resolution for member accounts, process passport applications, process holds; answer telephone, serve as receptionist and welcome members to library; file and perform other clerical duties as assigned. 

Requirements: 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Candidates must possess a high school degree or equivalent and be a U.S. citizen, eligible to become a passport acceptance agent; one year experience working with the public; keyboarding skills; ability to learn computerized circulation system, perform simple calculations, use language effectively, be friendly in dealing with others, and ability to work as a team member.  Customer service experience a plus.
