Copyright in Action: Considerations for Open Educational Resources

Registration is closed for this event

OERs—Open Educational Resources—are freely accessible, openly licensed materials used for teaching, learning and assessment. As many schools and universities feel pressure to do more with fewer resources and keep student costs to a minimum, OERs have become an attractive option. As more folks explore how to select (or create their own) OERs, the number of options keeps growing and we need to better understand the copyright implications for these complex intellectual products.

Attendees to this session will have the opportunity to

  • Explore the concepts and terminology of OERs
  • Learn about open licensing options

  • Discuss resources for examining copyright and licensing issues
