July 17, 2013 - Holiday Inn Worthington
Embracing eBooks is aimed at public service staff and will provide attendees with a well-rounded picture of the current state of eBooks and eReaders in libraries.
Participants will learn how to embrace the rapid changes in eBooks and the eBook landscape. Attendees will leave with skills to better interact with patrons from explaining why the library doesn’t offer certain eBooks to assisting them with using their eReader. A wide range of devices will be available in a hands-on lab.
The daylong event will provide opportunities to listen to other professionals discuss best practices, learn the legal ramifications of circulating eReaders, hear about the work being done with publishers to widen the library eBook market, and network with colleagues about their successes and failures.
