Chalmers Library, part of The Library and Information Services (LBIS) division of Kenyon College, seeks a creative and innovative individual to serve as Campus Engagement Librarian. A review of applications will begin immediately.
The Campus Engagement Librarian will design and implement outreach initiatives tailored to first and second-year students, and collaborate with library colleagues and stakeholders across the campus to provide meaningful, welcoming, and fun activities and services that foster student engagement and a sense of belonging. This role will also focus on introductory information literacy education by teaching course-integrated instruction sessions to 100-level courses, and may also teach an introductory for-credit course. This position represents Library and Information Services to the campus. It requires a commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, accessibility, and anti-racism within the library, the curriculum, and the community.
Kenyon College recently opened a new library that provides expanded opportunities for our research and instruction services. The library has experimental classrooms, exhibit space, and digitization & a/v facilities. Kenyon is creating a place focused on student success by incorporating several campus partners in the new library with the LBIS team: Career Development Office, Academic Advising, Writing Center, Student Accessibility, and Support Services. LBIS is a merged library and IT division that includes the library, IT, and Institutional Research services.

Salary
$60,000
Required Qualifications
* ALA-accredited Master’s degree in Library and Information Science or equivalent.
* Experience or interest in engaging with undergraduate students at a residential liberal arts college
Desired Qualifications
• Ability to provide research assistance.
• Teaching or training experience, including the development of student learning outcomes, the use of active learning strategies, and the creation and use of assessments that measure student learning.
• Experience with outreach initiatives or designing outreach materials that promote an organization’s resources, services, and/or programming.
• Effective project management, interpersonal, and oral & written communication skills.
• Strong commitment to equity and inclusion and the ability to work effectively and collegially with students, faculty, and staff from diverse backgrounds.
• Experience creating online research guides, instructional videos, tutorials, and/or other digital learning objects and instructional support materials.
