About the Opportunity

This is a prestigious strategic leadership position that serves as an essential member of, and trusted fiscal advisor to, an all-star executive leadership team that drive the Library’s mission to empower individuals and communities by providing opportunities for all to read, learn, create, and connect. Reporting to the Library’s Chief Executive Officer, the Chief Financial Officer plans, organizes, and directs all of the Library’s financial operations. The Chief Financial Officer also oversees the Library’s $88.8 million budget, revenue flow, investments, purchasing, and risk management activities.

Cuyahoga County Public Library has 27 branches that serve 47 communities in Cuyahoga County, Ohio. For 13 consecutive years [from 2009 to 2021], Cuyahoga County Public Library has been rated as a Library Journal five-star library, positioning it among the top library systems in the country for over a decade.

Salary

$130,000 min. pay range

Required Qualifications

Ideal candidates will have:

 Seven [7] years or more of public sector finance and accounting experience is required; Master’s degree is preferred.
 A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or relevant discipline is required.
 CPA, CGFO, or other related professional certification is preferred.
 Experience, knowledge, and skills in all aspects of public sector financial management including:
o Generally accepted accounting principles [GAAP]
o Budget administration and development
o Fund and cash management
o Investment and asset/risk management
o Financial analysis and planning
o Legal compliance requirements

 Proficiency in the following core competencies:
o Commitment to integrity and the highest ethical standards
o Communication
o Collaboration and partnership
o Emotional intelligence
o Service orientation
o Operational excellence
 Experience as part of collaborative, high-caliber leadership team focused on organizational development.
