Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree required, knowledge of children’s interests and popular culture, proficient with Microsoft Office applications. Library experience preferred, experience working directly with children is helpful. The ideal candidate will have some working knowledge regarding children’s literature and the desire to learn more about books for children of all ages.
Schedule: The schedule for the position is 8:00am-5:00pm on Mondays and Tuesdays, 12:45pm-9:00pm on Wednesdays and Thursdays, some Fridays 8:00am-5:00pm and about two Saturdays per month from 8:30am-5:00pm. The library is open Sundays from 1:00-5:00pm October through May. Sundays are available on a volunteer basis and paid at 1.5 times the hourly rate. At this time, this schedule is not flexible but the schedule is subject to change based on the needs of the library.
Euclid Public Library is accepting applications for an energetic and creative person to join the Youth Services team. The successful applicant will be passionate about providing an exceptional library experience for children. Responsibilities include answering reference questions including recommending books to children for leisure and helping to find resources for school assignments, preparing and conducting programs for children and families such as storytime for preschoolers and programming for babies or school age children, and assisting children and their families with the use of computers and printers.
