About this Job

The Collection Strategies and Analysis Librarian (CSAL) reports directly to the Associate University Librarian for Collections, Research, and Engagement Services and plays a critical role in the strategic development and management of the Kelvin Smith Library collections. The position is responsible for analyzing collection data, developing collection strategies, and ensuring that our resources meet the evolving needs of our research-intensive community. This position collaborates with research services, special collections, and acquisitions librarians, the Creation & Curation Services Division, and Case Western Reserve University libraries to effectively assess collection strengths, identify critical gaps, and budget for materials in all formats. The CSAL also represents Case Western Reserve University Libraries in OhioLINK and assists in creating and enhancing consortial and vendor arrangements.

Required Qualifications

The initial rank of the Collection Strategies and Analysis Librarian will be based upon the qualifications of the individual regarding that person’s professional knowledge, abilities and skills; contributions to the profession through service and scholarly endeavors; and professional qualities consistent with university and library values.

Education/Licensing: Master’s degree in library science or relevant area; 6 years of appropriate experience may be required or preferred. 2nd advanced degree may be required or preferred.
