Girard Free Library is seeking a Director. The ideal candidate will have leadership skills, strong communication skills, and experience developing programming and community relationships. The director will be responsible for leading staff in achieving the library’s strategic goals and mission.
The library serves residents of Girard city and surrounding areas. Annual revenue is from both state funding and local property tax levy. The Library Director will work with and report to a nine-member Board of Trustees.
Duties:
The Library Director is responsible for all aspects of library administration, and services along with the implementation of library policies, managing operations, staff, equipment, collection, property and facility needs. As well as community outreach; public relations; and networking with professional and community leaders. The Director works with the Board of Trustees to recommend and determine the policies and strategic direction for the library. The Director will also work with the Fiscal Officer to develop an annual budget for the library.
Salary
Range beginning at $65,000
Required Qualifications
Qualifications: The applicant should possess excellent management, programming, budget, facility, and communication skills.
-Administrative and supervisory experience
-Experience planning and monitoring a budget
-Proficiency in community outreach, presentations, communication
-Effective interpersonal skills and diplomatic management abilities
-Bachelor's degree with a related major
Desired Qualifications
-ALA-accredited master’s degree in library or information science, equivalent degree or related experience is preferred.
