About this Job
To direct the operations of the Instruction and Research Services Department at the University Libraries. To hire, supervise, schedule, train, evaluate and develop staff. To set, coordinate and maintain departmental goals, policies, and procedures. To serve on the University Libraries’ Management Advisory Council.
Salary
$60,000
Required Qualifications
ALA accredited MLS/MLIS
Minimum five years academic library experience in a reference/instruction environment with progressive responsibility
Experience with library assessment methods, ability to collect and analyze data for decision making and planning
Ability to establish relationships and work effectively with colleagues, students, faculty, and staff across campus
Ability to plan, design, implement, and assess services and programs
Demonstrated commitment to serving a culturally diverse community and fostering an environment of diversity and inclusion, with an ability to promote resources and services to diverse groups
Demonstrated commitment to teamwork;
Knowledge of educational technologies and the ability to apply knowledge to the design and delivery of instruction;
Knowledge of library instructional assessment techniques;
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
Ability to manage time and set priorities;
Interest in scholarly achievement, professional development and service.
Desired Qualifications
Supervisory experience
Familiarity with Springshare products
Experience with multimedia/makerspace center or curriculum materials library
Second master’s degree
