Ohio University Libraries are seeking energetic and forward-thinking applicants with a commitment to continuous learning to serve as the learning services educational technology and arts librarian.

Reporting to the head of learning services, the learning services educational technology librarian plays a critical role in executing the University Libraries’ strategic initiatives and fulfilling the University’s mission by creating and enhancing library learning objects in support of academic excellence. This position creates and manages the Libraries’ asynchronous learning modules in the campus’ new learning management system, Canvas. This person will build and maintain collaborative relationships with faculty, the Office of Information Technology and the Office of Instructional Design, and support instructors with integrating library instruction modules and library licensed content into Canvas. The learning services educational technology librarian partners with colleagues to create and assess interactive and video tutorials, online quizzes, assignments, etc. to enable scaling of the Libraries’ instructional programs. The learning services educational technology librarian also serves as subject liaison with a focus on the arts and provides instruction, reference, and consultation services to faculty and students in assigned academic areas. $44,592 - $59,085

Required Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Library and Information Science from an ALA accredited school or from a master’s level program in library and information studies accredited or recognized by the appropriate national body of another country. *
• Familiarity with or demonstrated ability in producing video tutorials, online instructional content, or other asynchronous learning modules.
• Experience with and willingness to utilize and promote emerging technologies and technology-mediated instructional methods.
• Effective communication skills
• Ability to work with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
• Commitment to continuous improvement and development.

*A bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 2 years of full-time, substantial, and directly related library experience in an academic library required in lieu of an ALA master’s degree.

Desired Qualifications

• Teaching or presentation experience.
• Experience working in an academic library.
• Demonstrated success with collaborative assignments.
• Undergraduate degree or coursework in the arts.
• Collection management experience or coursework relevant to building and maintaining library collections.
• Advanced technology skills, including experience with learning management systems, audio and video recording and editing applications, and other multimedia programs.
• Previous experience using the Springshare LibWizard platform to create tutorials and assess student learning.
• Familiarity or experience with developing library content for learning management systems, such as Canvas.
