Candidate must possess a Master’s degree in Library Science from an accredited ALA institution or be within six (6) hours and six (6) months of graduation; possess excellent communication and organizational skills; knowledge of a wide range of children’s books and authors; knowledge and skills in children’s programming and reference services, electronic information resources, and reader’s advisory; ability to handle multiple tasks; initiative to act in a self-directed manner; and ability to work as a team member. Children’s programming experience preferred.

Medina Library is looking for a friendly, energetic individual to join our vibrant Children's Department committed to public service! Successful candidate will provide direct library services such as reference and reader's advisory, plan and present programs and storytimes for children of all ages, process member requests, assist in collection maintenance, and other duties as assigned. Proactively greets children and families upon their arrival in the children’s area; engages with school-age children to channel their energy in a positive direction during busy periods such as after school. This position will assist in the management of the department and may serve as in-charge staff for the library in the absence of the Branch Manager and department supervisors. Reports to Children's Department Supervisor.
