Library Associate – Correctional Education
About this Job
This evening hours, in-person position is embedded in the Archer Library on the AU main campus and provides online library and information services to inmates.
+ Provides Correctional Education reference request fulfillment during M-Th library evening hours.
+ Selects material to fill information requests and assists students with bibliographic tools.
+ Enforces institutional and library rules.
+ May occasionally assist other staff with reference or other tasks to ease workloads.
Wage
$18.50-20.00
Required Qualifications
+ Currently enrolled or graduate of an American Library Association-accredited Master of Library Science degree program (or equivalent) required.
+ Knowledge of current issues and trends in academic libraries.
+ Sound judgment and discernment in working with a justice-involved environment.
+ Ability to promote teamwork and maintain effective working relationships with CE colleagues, library faculty and staff in a complex and rapidly-changing environment.
+ Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
+ Ability to work independently.
+ Demonstrated flexibility and attention to detail.
Desired Qualifications
+ Digital (online) library reference and instruction classwork and/or experience preferred.
