RESPONSIBILITIES
• Together with the Marketing Manager and other internal stakeholders, educates the community and potential community partners about the value and benefits of the Library.
• Develops compelling and effective communications materials that align with key message campaigns and incorporate impact stories.
• Produces design concepts in a variety of formats for numerous print and digital channels. Ensures brand standards are met and that high-quality communication pieces are produced in a timely manner and within budget parameters.
• Creates and manages assets such as photos, videos, and audio recordings for use in Library promotions.
• Designs, implements, and evaluates success of advertising campaigns, social media campaigns, email campaigns, and promotional materials within budget, serving as library liaison with vendors and professional printers.
• Develops relationships with customers, media contacts, and community partners in support of Library initiatives.
• Collaborates with other departments to develop ideas, templates, graphics, and promotional materials that meet customer and community needs/interests.
• Trains staff in other departments on branding guidelines, key message campaigns, and use of templates for print and digital materials.
• Drafts press releases, email campaigns, talking points, website content, social media posts, and other communications.
• Is responsive to staff, customer, and vendor needs in a competent, courteous, friendly, and professional manner.

$51,750
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field (marketing, journalism, graphic design, public relations).
• Three years of experience in journalism, graphic design, and/or marketing.
• Ability to comprehend marketing strategy and offer creative concepts and design solutions that support project goals and objectives.
• Excellent skills in written communication, editing, and proofreading.
• Excellent skills in design conceptualization, branding, typography, and layout.
• Strong organizational and project management skills. Must be able to track multiple projects simultaneously.
• Interpersonal and communication skills necessary to work effectively with various levels of library staff, vendors, community partners, and customers in a friendly and professional manner.
• Ability to work independently with little supervision.
• Proficient in social media platforms and standard website content management systems (CMS).
• Proficient in graphic design, computer and software packages including Adobe Creative Suite (including InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop), MS Office, internet searching, and various printing equipment and materials.
• Positive attitude and willingness to accept change.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
• While performing duties, the individual typically handles office equipment, objects, or controls and frequently communicates with others. Duties require minimal physical exertion, including bending, kneeling, stooping, and standing.
• The majority of the work is performed in an office setting or online. The job may entail exposure to cold, heat, weather, excessive noise, or vibration when working outside events. Although mostly daytime work some evening and weekend work may be required.
