Materials Processor

The ASCPL is hiring a Materials Processor to support our Mission Statement to provide resources for learning and leisure, information services, meeting spaces, and programs for all ages that support, improve, and enrich individual, family, and community life.
This position performs a variety of duties as associated with the system-wide processing of print and non-print materials including, but not limited to, barcoding newly arrived materials; applying plastic covers; affixing call number, genre, and other appropriate labels to meet system-wide and specialized routines; stamping; applying plastic sheeting; copying cover art and fitting audio visual material into appropriate cases for circulation; labeling and enumerating individual pieces and part of AV set; inspecting and repairing print and non-print materials; performing simple clerical duties, including generating replacement labels and delivering processed/shelf-ready items to Circulation; and performs other duties as assigned.

12.24 per hour

Completion of a standard high school course or equivalent. Ability to understand simple written and verbal directions. Willingness to learn materials processing and mending practices and techniques. Manual dexterity. Demonstrated ability to work with reasonable speed and accuracy. Demonstrated ability to work well with others. Ability to lift, bend and push book carts loaded with library materials with or without reasonable accommodation.
