About this Job
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintain and enhance an understanding of the current library automation software application.
Provide rapid detection and solution to the current library automation software application inquiries and effective means of ‘trouble-shooting’ user questions, concerns and needs.
Assist, plan and deliver training for users on the current library automation software.
Act as primary contact between school district personnel and NEOnet regarding related questions and issues.
Maintain and enhance the working knowledge of other software applications outside the respective software package of concentration to promote INFOhio resources and tools.
Keep users notified of changes and/or updates to the library automation software modules and INFOhio resources.
Prepare, write and distribute documentation as necessary to provide effective professional development, training and support for users.
Assist in developing various software procedures as needed by NEOnet and school district personnel.
Troubleshoots and customize the loading of vendor records into the system for customers.
Coordinates the billing of software licenses with state support team.
Escalates and manages incidents with state support agency.
Develop and fulfill user defined reports and data requests.
Establish the necessary skills to manage the server hosting the library automation software.
Provide second tier software support and training to the Media Services support liaison.
Perform other duties as assigned by the NEOnet Director.
Salary
$45,000-$55,000
Required Qualifications
Ability to read and understand software documentation, to develop instructional materials as needed, to conduct training programs in the use of software applications.
Ability to work cooperatively and harmoniously with many individuals of varying backgrounds and to handle information professionally and confidentially.
Ability to organize tasks into a logical and purposeful sequence.
Provide problem-solving initiative, cultivate resources available from other OECN sites, the Ohio Department of Education, and associated commercial vendors.
Familiarity with various computer systems and ability to use associated computer equipment.
Ability to communicate with other employees and train others in the use of computer equipment.
Desired Qualifications
Four-year degree in Information Systems or Library Science.
M.L.S. and/or School Library Media certification/licensure.
Knowledge of library automation software and training/instructional design.
Experience with online databases, cataloging/MARC and Windows/Microsoft applications.
