About this Job

Provide professional Reference Service; Provide bibliographic instruction on an informal and formal basis, both online and in-person. A full-time, 12 month position, reporting to Director for Library and Academic Support Services.

Provide reference service by assisting and instructing patrons in locating and evaluating a variety of information resources, includes in-person and virtual requests; Prepare customized instruction for assigned liaison areas including but not limited to Nursing, Exercise Science, and Physician’s Assistant programs, instruction can be synchronous and asynchronous; Prepare and maintain online library guides supporting curriculum in assigned subject and liaison areas; Participate in the library’s assessment activities; Maintain pro-active liaison relationship with assigned academic departments by helping to develop and weed those collections; Review professional literature to recommend items for acquisition (print and non-print) particularly in reference and liaison areas; Assume overall responsibility for Library during evening or weekend hours as assigned. Includes some circulation responsibilities.

Required Qualifications

Master’s Degree in Library Science; Experience familiarity with technologies and software used in an academic library setting; Experience in database searching; Experience in teaching or presentations. Experience working in inclusive climates and the ability to work evening and weekend hours. A self-starter able to multitask and work calmly under pressure. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Desired Qualifications

Preferred experience in area subject matters of Health Sciences.
