About this Job

The Cleveland Institute of Art invites applications for the Student Success Librarian to provide leadership for the Jessica R. Gund Memorial Library's instruction and engagement programs and contribute to student success initiatives across the college. The ideal candidate will be someone who is looking to further their skills in library instruction, engagement programming, and assessment; is committed to student success, enjoys working in a collaborative environment; and shares the library's commitment to social justice.

Major responsibilities include providing leadership for the library's instructional and engagement services; developing flexible and inclusive instruction and engagement programming for a range of audiences, including both in-person and online; promoting, implementing, and assessing a growing library instruction and engagement program that supports the library's commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, and furthers student success. The Student Success Librarian also participates in reference and research services and supervises the Access & Circulation Coordinator as well as the library's student employees.

The successful candidate will develop a variety of instruction projects, including teaching information literacy classes for students, leading and developing workshops on research skills, digital, data, and information literacy topics, and engage in assessment projects. The Student Success Librarian will also collaborate on projects related to student success across campus, including developing instruction and engagement programming for first-year, first-generation, underrepresented, international, and transfer students and developing and leading orientation programming.

This is a full-time position, and work schedule will vary. Flexibility to work evening hours is required during the academic year (approximately third week in August to third week in May).

Compensation
This is a full-time exempt position. Compensation is commensurate with experience and qualifications. Cleveland Institute of Art offers a benefit package including; vacation, sick, personal time accrual as well as additional time off while the college is closed during winter break; health and dental insurance, life and disability insurance, 403B retirement contribution, tuition remission, free campus parking, and inter-museum council discounts.

Pay Range: $42,000 - $52,000 per year

Required Qualifications

* Master’s degree from an ALA-accredited library school
* Teaching and instruction experience in a library or other educational setting
* Familiarity with information literacy concepts and trends
* Familiarity with assessment tools and techniques
* Commitment to fostering an educational environment that values diversity,
equity, and inclusion and a commitment to anti-racist pedagogy
* Commitment to user-centered library services
* Excellent oral and written communication skills

Desired Qualifications

* Some professional level experience, preferably in an academic library
* Experience with assessment tools and techniques
* Experience or knowledge of the Framework for Information Literacy in Higher
Education
* Supervisory experience
* Experience managing projects
