About this Job

Otterbein University is seeking a Technical Services Librarian in the Courtright Memorial Library who will coordinate all technical service activities, including acquisitions, collection development, budget management, cataloguing and processing. This position is a full time Staff with Faculty Rank, exempt position reporting to the Director of the Library.

The Technical Services Librarian will provide in-person and virtual reference and research assistance to users, collaborate with liaison departments to provide ­service and actively participate in classroom instruction.

Salary

dependent on faculty rank appointment

Required Qualifications

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: MLS/MLIS from ALA-accredited library school and at least one year of related work experience in an academic library setting is required. Accounting courses or work experience required. Rank will be determined based on education and experience.

TECHNICAL SKILLS: Knowledge of general library procedures. Must be able to use general office equipment and Microsoft Office software. Needs detailed knowledge of online vendor characteristics. Working knowledge of Innovative Interfaces, Inc. systems preferred. Requires knowledge of cataloging standards, processes, and procedures using OCLC, MARC, AACRII, and RDA, LCC, DCC. General knowledge of metadata standards such as Dublin Core, MODS, DACS, etc.
