Required Qualifications

Masters of Library Science from an ALA-accredited program before date of appointment

Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills

Demonstrated experience using OCLC Connexion and cataloging standards, including MARC, AACR2, and RDA

Strong commitment to public service and ability to work with diverse users, staff, and faculty

Ability to work successfully in a team environment, as well as independently

Utility with electronic resources

Familiarity with emerging trends in library services and systems

High degree of self motivation

Demonstrated presentation skills


Preferred Qualifications

Academic library experience

Experience with Innovative Interfaces, Inc. Sierra

Familiar with other metadata schemas

Supervisory experience



This is a twelve-month appointment with faculty rank at the Assistant/Associate Professor level reporting to the Library Director.  Salary will reflect the successful candidate’s qualifications and professional experience. Cataloging/Technical Services

Direct and oversees the daily operations of Technical Services

Perform original and copy cataloging in various subjects, formats, and languages

Maintain accuracy of catalog records

Facilitate access to resources via a variety of tools and formats

Develop, maintain, and implement cataloging and metadata policies and procedures

Work with colleagues in various areas to provide relevant services to patrons (Circulation, Special Collections, Information Literacy, Technical Services, etc.)

Other Duties

Act as liaison to designated departments, providing collection development, instruction as needed, and creation of LibGuides or tutorials as needed

Participate in library assessment activities as required

Progress successfully along the promotion and tenure track, and participate fully as a member of the university faculty including serving on internal library and campus-wide faculty and related committees

Maintain awareness of trends and advances in the field by attending professional conferences, workshops, meetings, and other events

Work one evening reference shift per week and weekend hours as required

Perform other duties as necessary
