Technology Support Specialist
About this Job
- Purchase, install, manage, and maintain classroom equipment in collaboration with the Multimedia Technology Services Manager, Information Services and other campus partners
- Test and troubleshoot issues with classroom technology which includes but is not limited to computers, projectors, microphones, clickers, adaptors, webcams, video recorders, speakers and cables
- Checkout circulating classroom technology equipment via the library’s LMS, working in collaboration with the library’s cataloging and access services staff when necessary
- Provide orientation and training for users borrowing equipment
- Assist with the planning and design/redesign of classroom and event spaces
- Set up and tear down equipment for temporary classroom and campus events
- Record, stream, edit and archive select campus events
- Assist w/ supervision of student employees
- Coordinate and collaborate closely with the appropriate staff for Media Center room scheduling, develop training materials, and explore and test new technologies, especially equipment
- Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications
- Experience providing technology support services
- Basic knowledge of and experience troubleshooting Windows PCs and Apple computers
- Experience with common instructional technology equipment
- Understanding of core video signals and audio signal flows
- Familiarity with professional audio equipment
- Basic knowledge of video and audio editing software
- Ability to perform routine equipment maintenance
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively, and be highly reliable
- Skilled at time management and handling multiple projects/issues concurrently
- Ability to work with frequent interruptions
- Demonstrated willingness to grow their knowledge and experience with new tools and methods
- Excellent communication skills both written and oral
- Ability to lift/carry 25 pounds.
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of live streaming software and platforms, such as Wirecast, OBS, YouTube Live, Facebook Live, Google Meet, Zoom, etc.
- Demonstrated ability to work with a diverse group of faculty, staff, and students
- Supervisory experience
- Training experience
- Bachelor’s degree
