Call for Proposals: Presentations on Library Facilities
Event Name: OhioNet Library Facilities Summit
Event Date: October 28, 2025
OhioNet invites proposals from our members to present at our upcoming Library Facilities Summit on October 28. This in-person event, hosted at OhioNet in Westerville, will explore the ways libraries can fix, maintain, and design library facilities to best serve their patrons and staff.
We are looking for individual presentations that highlight the following, or similar, topics:
- Creative maintenance/fixes on a budget
- Practical accessibility solutions
- Training staff with facilities in mind
- Pest response and maintenance
- Lessons learned from remodeling/new facility projects
- Lessons learned from disaster response
- Facility safety and security
- Planning library spaces to anticipate facilities issues
- Facilities master planning
Proposal Guidelines:
- Title of Presentation: A concise and engaging title.
- Abstract: 250-500 words summarizing the content of your presentation and its relevance to the summit.
- Presenters: Name, title, and affiliation of proposed speaker(s).
- Format(s) of presentation you would be willing to accept as a speaker:
- Panel session participant
- 10-minute lightning round presentation
- 20-minute standalone presentation
- Technical Requirements: Any special equipment, set-up, or accessibility needs that we should consider.
Submission Deadline: September 8, 2025 — Extended to September 15, 2025
Submission Instructions: Please submit your proposal using our Library Facilities Summit Proposal Submission Form. Selected speakers will be notified by October 1, 2025. Meals and complimentary registration will be provided to all speakers during the summit. Transportation will not be provided.
