Featured Service: Staff Development/In-Service Trainings

In addition to our larger events, OhioNet welcomes the opportunity to collaborate with you on your library’s next staff development or in-service day. We offer engaging, interactive sessions designed for full-day, half-day, or one- to two-hour formats.

Each session combines practical tools with reflective discussion to help your team immediately apply what they learn. Explore some of our most popular topics below:

  • Boosting Workplace Wellbeing recognizes that library workers devote energy to supporting others. This session introduces the evidence-based PERMAH framework for wellbeing and provides strategies to strengthen wellbeing at work.
  • Conversations Worth Having provides staff with three simple, yet powerful tools to improve everyday communication. Staff will practice these skills to transform their conversations by focusing on understanding and a positive outcome.
  • Defining Excellent Customer Service taps into your staffs’ own experiences as customers to identify what excellent customer service looks like. Together, they will assess current practices, identify areas for improvement, and develop a plan to elevate the library’s customer service standards.
  • Igniting High-Quality Connections explores what makes connections energizing and productive at work. Staff will identify small, practical ways to build strong relationships and design plans to strengthen teamwork.
  • Strategic Conversations uses the SOAR (strengths, opportunities, aspirations, and results) framework to focus your staff on topics that matter the most to your library. Potential topics might be your library’s strategy, change, engagement, communications, or community relations. This structured dialogue develops shared insight and forward momentum and any topics can be used.
  • Understanding Character Strengths to Build a Stronger Team begins with staff taking the VIA Character Strengths survey prior to the session. Staff learn how to apply their strengths at work, map team strengths, and anticipate “strength collisions” that can spark either conflict or creativity.
