Call for Steering Committee Members: Continuing the Tradition of OLSSI
When the Ohio Library Support Staff Institute (OLSSI) announced that they would be winding down as an organization, OhioNet worked closely with them to ensure that their legacy—and all the knowledge needed to continue their work—would live on.
Support staff are the backbone of our libraries, and they continue to deserve a space for professional growth, networking, and continuing education. To honor that mission, OhioNet aims to reinstate OLSSI in late July 2026.
We are forming a Steering Committee to help shape this next chapter and are seeking current or former library support staff who are passionate about building an engaging and inclusive program.
Because this event is designed to serve support staff across all library types, we aim to include 1-2 representatives from each of the following library types:
- Academic libraries
- Public libraries
- K–12 libraries
- Special libraries

Together, we can continue the spirit of OLSSI and ensure that library support staff have the professional community they deserve.
