Celebrating Pam Rossman’s 38+ Years at OhioNet

After more than 38 years of dedicated service, Pam Rossman is retiring from her role as OhioNet’s Order Specialist on May 30, 2025. Since joining the organization in February 1987, Pam has been a cornerstone of OhioNet’s member programs team — supporting libraries across Ohio with equipment and supply orders, managing complex electronic resource renewals, and offering guidance for our members rooted in deep institutional knowledge.
“Pam’s legacy is her steadfast commitment to member-centered service,” said Katy Mathuews, OhioNet’s Executive Director and CEO. “Her work has touched every corner of the Ohio library community, and her attention to detail and care for our members have made her an invaluable part of our team. While we will deeply miss Pam’s presence and expertise, we are profoundly grateful for her work and wish her the very best in retirement.”
Pam’s precision, patience, and commitment to helping libraries have ensured the smooth completion of thousands of orders and saved countless hours for busy library teams. As one of OhioNet’s longest-serving employees, her contributions have helped shape not only the organization’s internal processes, but also its lasting relationships with member libraries.
“I have only worked with Pam for two years, but in that time, I have been impressed by her intelligence, her wry sense of humor, her work ethic and her dedication to stellar customer service,” said Hannah Rosen, Director of Member Programs. “Based on the many heartfelt messages she has received from librarians since announcing her retirement, she will be sorely missed. I wish Pam all the rest and relaxation she deserves in her retirement.”
Reflecting on her time at OhioNet, Pam shared: “I have enjoyed working with the great Ohio librarians and OhioNet staff members over the last 38 years, and I will miss talking to all of you through emails or over the phone. I am incredibly grateful for the relationships I have established with all of you.”
As for what comes next, Pam noted that her retirement plans are still taking shape. “I’m looking forward to traveling more, spending time with my family, volunteering with a local charity, continuing to walk in 5K races as I’ve done over the last couple of years, and relaxing with my dogs.”
We invite our members and colleagues to join us in celebrating Pam’s retirement and wishing her the best in the years to come. If you’d like to share your memories or send a message of appreciation, please email communications manager Jillian Tuttle at [email protected].
On behalf of everyone at OhioNet, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to Pam for her many years of service and congratulate her on a remarkable career.
