Director’s Desk: Celebrating OhioNet Staff

As I interact with members throughout the year, I frequently hear about the impact my OhioNet colleagues make through their dedicated service. Whether it’s supporting members in their day-to-day work, helping them stretch a dollar, creating community at our events, or tackling a project, there’s no shortage of evidence that the work we do matters.

Each June I take the opportunity to celebrate OhioNet staff with a small social gathering. This year, in addition to giving kudos to all staff, we celebrated two milestone anniversaries: Heather Ladiski (5 years of service) and Matt Polcyn (25 years of service).

Heather Ladiski is our Membership Liaison and Operations Coordinator. Heather is the steadfast resource members can rely on throughout their membership to assist with any need. This work extends to our Board of Directors, where Heather supports quarterly meetings and other Board activities. Heather is also instrumental in overseeing several administrative functions such as payroll, benefits, and project support. I am excited to work with Heather in the coming year as we create new ways to help our members make the most of their OhioNet membership.

Matt Polcyn is our Director of Technology Services and leads a team who administers and supports library systems and assists members in projects big and small. In fact, Matt and his team supported over 30 libraries during the recent OhioLINK systems migration! Matt truly works alongside our members to ensure that their systems are poised to support staff work and patron services. Matt deeply understands the nuances of library systems in a way that brings confidence and assurance to members. Similarly, as part of OhioNet’s leadership team, Matt’s thoughtful approach is invaluable in our broader support to our member libraries.
