Welcome New Member – Fairport Harbor Public Library

We are pleased to welcome the newest OhioNET member, Fairport Harbor Public Library.

With a total of nine staff, Fairport Harbor PL is small but mighty. It is, in fact, the 17th smallest by population and the 35th smallest by the number of registered borrowers, according to Director Kara Cervelli.

Ms. Cervelli reached out to us in August, expressing interest in OhioNET and concern about affordability. Our Executive Director and Board responded by developing new membership tiers for smaller libraries.

“Remote learning is really important to our library, and consortia connections are vital to our work,” said Ms. Cervelli. With OhioNET’s practical and customer-focused training options, Fairport Harbor staff will have additional help toward their goals of supporting their great staff and making the library the center of their community.

Even as the library has been shifting between service models for COVID safety, they have been innovating and connecting in many ways, including a new LGBT+ book club and art club for youth and several ways for their community to interact online.
