Description

In this session we’ll talk about how to create a safe, welcoming environment for second language learners. Often this means reaching out to new community members and keeping them informed.  

Participants will discuss programming ideas and steps for getting started, resources for materials (like dual language books), and best practices for outreach.

Desiree Thomas Youth Services Librarian

Desiree Thomas has worked in the library profession for the past 20 years. She believes stories have the power to shape our world for the better. She is a book reviewer for school library journal and a member of the Choose to Read Ohio advisory board. She is currently a youth services librarian at Worthington Libraries.
