Mandy Simon (Managing Consultant) from Bradbury Miller Associates will discuss bias and how it affects the hiring process. Attendees will learn to identify different types of bias and understand how it affects decision-making. Presenters will introduce tools for structuring hiring pathways that minimize personal preferences and prioritize equitable screening and interview procedures.

Mandy Simon worked in public libraries around central Ohio for 12 years before becoming a Library Consultant for the State Library of Ohio. There, she focused on strategic planning and space planning for Ohio libraries for 7 years. Now, Mandy is a Managing Consultant at BMA, and guides library boards and organizations through an equitable search process to find their next leader.
