Online Database Overviews: Home Improvement & Hobbies and Crafts Reference Centers

  • Vendor Resources
  • Webinar
  • 1.5 CE Hours

Description

Through Libraries Connect Ohio, every library across the state has access to two hands-on databases that can help their community members make the most of their summer breaks.

Whether through the Ohio Web Library, INFOhio Resources or the OhioLINK Research Databases, every Ohioan can easily access both the Hobbies and Crafts Reference Center and the Home Improvement Reference Center*. These two EBSCO databases each have a searchable archive of how-to videos.

Whether library users need to repair a sink or replace a water heater, they’ll find helpful information in the Home Improvement Reference Center. Anyone looking for suggestions for new hobbies, projects or crafts will find loads of options in the Hobbies and Crafts Reference Center.

Learn all about these two how-to databases with Lisa E. Jones, Senior Trainer at EBSCO.

*These resources are available statewide through OPLIN, OhioLINK, and INFOhio.

Each session in Online Database Overviews includes:

  • an overview of the resource(s) being featured (what content is included, what search options are available, who is the intended audience)
  • a review of access requirements and options for sharing/downloading content
  • an exploration of use cases and marketing ideas
  • a discussion of options for staff training to help end-users navigate the materials

Notes:

This is a free webinar, open to all Ohio librarians at no charge.
