Overview of New Oxford English Dictionary Platform
Description
The Oxford University Press announced that the Oxford English Dictionary (OED) moved to a new software platform in June 2023, in order to provide an enhanced customer experience. The purpose of this webinar is to provide an overview of how the new platform functions. The webinar will explore areas such as user interface, search layout and choices, and ways to interact through personal profiles and data. Get the most information on entries through the Factsheet referencing each word, its pronunciation and its history. New improvements to the platform include:
- Better site navigation, including clearer navigation
- A clear, new tabular layout, making information easier to understand
- Enhanced accessibility compliant with industry standards (Level AA of the WCAG Standard)
There will be time after the presentation for a question and answer period.
