Veterans Outreach Programs Benefit Your Community and Your Library

  • Wellbeing
  • Webinar
  • 1 CE Hour

Description

When Licking County Library began researching local veterans back in 2014, they had no idea how big their little program would become.  They started small—with resources available to every library in the state—but made strategic choices and important investments in this program.  They now have a full-time staff member focused on this program, but the benefits have been enormous.  Through their Veterans Program, Licking County Library has been able to make connections with a wide variety of community groups, get the library’s name into spaces and places where it had never been before, and bring together distant parts of their service area through a common project.  All of this while doing what libraries have always done—preserving our records for future generations.  Plan to attend this session to discuss the ways that an outreach program like this one can build relationships.

Attendees to this session will have the opportunity to

  • Discuss the changes to the Licking County Library Veteran Program in recent years
  • Explore their strategies and how they have raised the library’s profile in their community

Who Should Attend

Directors, managers, other decision-makers responsible for programming and outreach services, and anyone with an interest in the topic.
