About this Job

OhioLINK seeks a Consortial Systems Librarian to serve as an integral part of supporting OhioLINK’s consortial Library Services Platform (LSP). The individual in this position will additionally help support the migration of OhioLINK libraries to Ex Libris’ Alma LSP.

OhioLINK is Ohio’s statewide academic library consortium, delivering both IT infrastructure and content negotiation to provide students, faculty, researchers and staff with access to valuable digital research collections at a fraction of the cost if those collections had to be purchased by individual institutions.

In this role, the Consortial Systems Librarian will:

Support the implementation of Ex Libris’ Alma LSP, including the Primo VE discovery layer.

Develop and maintain expertise in Alma/Primo VE functions and integrations. Serve as primary contact for member library LSP support.

Respond to, manage and resolve LSP, link resolver and discovery layer support tickets from member librarians.

Communicate about service-affecting issues, changes and updates.

Participate in and collaborate with OhioLINK project teams, communities of interest, policy and implementation teams relating to the LSP, discovery layer and link resolver.

Stay current with national and international developments related to LSPs, discovery layers, link resolvers and trends in consortia and library services.

This position works closely with the Associate Director for Discovery & Delivery and OhioLINK member institutions to assist in first implementing and then managing OhioLINK’s LSP, Alma/Primo VE. This position will develop working relationships and communicate regularly with OhioLINK’s ILS/LSP vendor, other OhioLINK staff and member librarians regarding LSP operations and customer support issues. The position will require some travel, both in- and out-of-state for professional conferences and training.

OhioLINK, along with the Ohio Supercomputer Center and OARnet, is part of the Ohio Technology Consortium (OH-TECH), the technology and information division of the Ohio Department of Higher Education (ODHE). OH-TECH provides high-tech solutions for Ohio’s higher education institutions to catalyze innovation in the modern knowledge economy. OH-TECH is a welcoming and inclusive environment.
