What are this position's duties?
Advises & consults with librarians, trustees, governmental agency employees & professional groups, and other agency staff on grants specific to Library Programs & Development.
Assists Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) applicants with program development and assessment tools.
Reviews LSTA-related applications for eligibility and allowable costs, ensuring compliance with federal and state guidelines.
Establishes and works with review teams on evaluation of LSTA applications.
Speaks at library conferences and makes onsite field visits to monitor progress of projects.
Provides excellent customer service to all of the State Library's internal and external customers.

$27.26 hourly
Required Qualifications
Qualifications
Master's degree in library science from accredited college or university; 12 mos. exp. in library science position performing budgeting & project management tasks or in management &/or administration; 5 yrs. exp. in library science position.
Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment may be substituted for the experience requirement.
Knowledge: Library science & technology; public relations; governmental regulations*;
government structure; grant budgeting & accounting; project management; customer service; public relations; English language (e.g. rules of composition & grammar); education & training; agency policies & procedures.*
Skills: Business office software applications; operation of personal computer & office machines; service orientation; active listening; reading comprehension;
coordination; presentation & facilitation; problem solving; social perceptiveness; critical thinking.
Abilities: Oral comprehension & expression; flexibility; written comprehension & expression; information ordering; define problems, collect data, establish facts & draw valid conclusions; speech clarity; inductive reasoning; run meetings; design & develop surveys and presentations; analyze information; work with minimal supervision and/or in a team environment.
Competency in: Customer Focus.
