We invite you to join us for a Library Communications and Outreach Summit on April 22, 2026, at the OhioNet Town Hall meeting space. This in-person event will explore the ways libraries can communicate their value, engage users, and build meaningful connections through outreach.

Attendees will hear from featured speaker Grayson Kelly, the Digital Storytelling Specialist at Columbus Metropolitan Library responsible for one of the most popular library social media brands in the country.

The Library Communications and Outreach Summit will feature a day of sessions including a featured speaker, practitioner presentations, a vendor demonstration and more. A detailed agenda will be available shortly.

Join us for “Minimizing Bias During the Hiring Process” on March 18!

Mandy Simon (Managing Consultant) from Bradbury Miller Associates will discuss bias and how it affects the hiring process. Attendees will learn to identify different types of bias and understand how it affects decision-making. Presenters will introduce tools for structuring hiring pathways that minimize personal preferences and prioritize equitable screening and interview procedures.

Is your New Year’s Resolution to read more with your colleagues? If so, we hope you will join us for the second meeting of a new five-part virtual book club series as we explore Critical Hope: How to Grapple with Complexity, Lead with Purpose, and Cultivate Transformative Social Change by Kari Grain, PhD — a non-fiction treatise on hope focusing on seven principles that form a practice-based approach to creating and sustaining change. We will break the book into five sections, meeting every two weeks to discuss themes, insights, questions, and ideas sparked along the way.

This series is designed for open, free-flowing conversation, so session will not be recorded, allowing space for candid reflection and shared learning. OhioNet staff will help guide discussion, but the direction will be shaped by participants. Learn more and register here.

MARC Coding Review

MARC (Machine-Readable Cataloging) is the language most libraries use to encode the records for their collections.
