Project update: Diversity Assessment RFQ

The OhioNet Board of Directors have selected consultants Pamela Espinosa de los Monteros and Janice Jaguszewski to lead an assessment of Anti-Racism, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (ADEI) within OhioNet and Ohio’s BIPOC Librarianship. This initiative will start in October 2023 and conclude in July 2024.

OhioNet acknowledges the need for transformation into an anti-racist organization and seeks to lead by example. While the idea of a residency or intern program was initially discussed, further board discussions and reflection revealed the necessity for a more comprehensive approach.

The goal of this project is to create a meaningful program that empowers BIPOC librarians and libraries in Ohio, fostering mutual respect, power, and strength-building. OhioNet will continue to share updates as this initiative progresses.
